Samsung Omnia 2 i8000 Mobile News

New Samsung Omnia 2 i8000 might feature a large AMOLED screen, new interface design over Windows Mobile.

The Samsung Omnia2 sports a 3.7-inch WVGA TFT resistive touchscreen, 8.1 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and VGA@30fps video recording, 150 MB internal memory, a Qualcomm processor and a microSD card slot. The connectivity includes all you may need as usual - 3G support, Bluetooth, miniUSB, GPS and Wi-Fi.

Features of the Samsung Omnia2 will be:

  • 3.7-inch WVGA TFT resistive touchscreen (800 x 480 pixel) AMOLED display
  • TouchWiz interface with a custom “cubic” UI
  • 8.1 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and VGA@30fps video recording
  • 150 MB internal memory with a microSD card slot
  • Qualcomm processor
  • 3G support
  • Bluetooth
  • miniUSB
  • A-GPS
  • Wi-Fi
  • DivX/XViD support
  • Cubical central button, which invokes some kind of Cube-like interface
  • 1500mAh battery
Apparently more is to be confirmed at the Samsung Unpacked unveiling on 15th June, which coincides with CommunicAsia 2009. Looks like it will be armed with WinMo 6.1 instead of 6.5, so no chance at the new OS yet.
